I also agree with Linda that the anti-christ is to be revealed before the end of the age.
I contend however, that the anti-christ has already been exposed, it is just not yet seen by the denominational church system. Scripture does not tells us that all will see the exposure before the end comes, this is just assumed. And scripture does not tells us that all believers will get the revelation before satan is exposed in the temple.
What I am about to explain to you requires you to think outside the box, to seek the answer in prayer to our Father, and to put away old assumptions which the church system as taught. In this writing I will not address the nation of Israel for that in itself is way to long to address, so I will only try and lead you to the revelation of the anti-christ.
Forgive me as I need to set this up so that it is understood.
MEANING OF ANTICHRIST
First, what does antichrist mean? In truth, it means “to be against Christ.” If we teach contrary to Jesus teachings then, we are teaching antichrist teachings. Does this make the person who is doing the teaching an antichrist? It depends, is the person doing the teaching out of ignorance, or are they teaching errors on purpose. In reality, both are indeed antichrist, for both are not teaching according to what Jesus taught. This also comes down to interpretation of the scripture, are we interpreting scripture correctly or not? It is hard to say.
This is shown to us in 1 John when John tells us that indeed there are many antichrist (1 John 2:18). John explains in verse 22 that anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ is antichrist. John also tells us in 4:3 that those who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is also antichrist. But in 2 John 1:7 John also tells us that anyone who deceives is an antichrist. These are the explanations as given in scripture.
The antichrist is not necessarily an individual, in fact John calls them many. We believe that Satan is an individual, yet scripture is not really clear on this. So open your mind up to the possibility that Satan is more than just an individual.
THE KINGDOM
Jesus speaks to us about the KINGDOM OF GOD. A kingdom requires four (4) things.
A King
Citizens
Laws
Location
We are currently in the church age, an age which I believe is coming to a close. Within this age the church has been masterful at teaching the first two items on this list. They have correctly taught that Jesus is our King, and they have been busy gathering citizens for the kingdom. But the church system has failed in teaching the last two. It has even gone as far as teaching that the law no longer exist.
I will bypass the law in this writing, for it requires a rather large study. So let me get into location.
LOCATION
It is my belief through my study of scripture that the location in which we will spend our time as an immortal entity has been identified. We are told in 1 Corinthians 3:16 (among other places) that WE ARE the temple of God. This is not really understood in Christendom. If we are the new temple of God, then any physical temple has been put away.
Paul teaches us this in 2 Corinthians 5. Paul describes us as an “earthly house”, not made with hands. We are the tabernacle (temple), we are the building of God. Paul also uses the term of “clothing” us with this house which is from heaven (all KJV).
In 1 Peter 2:5 we are described as “Lively Stones”, built up as a spiritual house. This is why the judgment must start at the house of God, the house of God being us. God is going to work in His people to prepare them for eternity.
The Old Testament also speaks to this in a prophetic way. The law as told to us in Leviticus speaks of the “garments.” A priest shall put on linen garments when ministering before God, but then this same priest must then put on woolen garments when he goes out and ministers before the people. Linen represents the spirit, and so anyone who ministers before God must have on a spiritual body. Woolen represents the fleshy body, and only when a priest had on this woolen body could he go before the people. Jesus showed this to us as He went before God with His spiritual body, but when he was upon the earth before His Apostles He had on His woolen body.
The Prophets speak that we are dwelling in tents temporarily, until our house is completed.
This is all prophetic of what is to come, that when we are resurrected into immortality, we will gain a spiritual body. But it seems that we will also have the ability to have a fleshy body (flesh and bones, not flesh and blood) when we are on the earth, for the kingdom of God will be on the earth. This is also why the law does not allow the mixing of silk and wool in garments, for we are not allowed to mix our spiritual and fleshy bodies.
There is so much I could go into here but I am trying to keep it short.
Jesus tells us about the many houses in John 14:2, “In my Fathers house are many mansions.” We are the mansions. This is also spoken of when Paul speaks about the many membered body of Christ in Romans 12:4-5 and in 1 Corinthians 12:12-14.
The point here is that we are the location of the kingdom of God. God will dwell within each one of us in full power, and we will not ever need another light, for the light of God is within us. The scriptures are about how we are the temple of God, but christians do not think in this manner.
When a christian reads that the antichrist will be exposed in the temple (2 Thessalonians 2) declaring that he is God, the christian automatically thinks that the temple will be a physical one. Thus most believe that a third temple must yet be built.
Very few believers ever look within themselves to seek the answer to this dilemma. Very few will admit that they are a carnal being under a curse of sin. Very few will admit that they are indeed full of sin and are incapable of not sinning. God tells us this in Romans 8:7, that OUR CARNAL MIND is enmity (hostility) against God. Thus, if one was to think upon this case, they would discover that our carnal mind fits the description of antichrist.
Our carnal mind is egotistical, it will not admit that it is evil. Yet our carnal mind sits within the temple of God at this time, claiming to be god. How does this happen, because we claim that we have a Free Will, that we are responsible for our own salvation, not God. We claim superiority over those who do not believe in God, claiming that we “Made the decision” to believe, when scripture tells us that God calls us, we do not call Him.
God is sovereign, He will build our house for us, this is why Jesus came as a carpenter.
So if you can see it, if your eyes can be opened as I pray they will be. Our carnal mind is the man of perdition siting in the temple claiming that it is God. Thus, the antichrist has already been revealed for those who can see it. Our Temple is the New Jerusalem.
