Here is my thoughts on the matter.
The Holy of Holies (HoH) was the location of the ark of the covenant within the temple in the physical universe. It was located behind the curtain within the Holy Place, thus you had the outer court, within that the holy place, and within that the holy of holies. It was not lawful to enter within the HoH except for one day of the year, and that day was the Day of Atonement which was within the Fall Feast days, between the Feast of Trumpets and the Feast of Tabernacles. The only person legal to enter into the HoH’s was the High Priest of the Levitical Priesthood, and he did it to atone for the sins of the nation of Israel. This started with Moses’ brother Aaron and progressed down through his bloodline.
Jesus turned the tables on this practice, removing the curtain from between the holy place and the holy of holies. This is called the middle wall of partition in Ephesians 2:14. The Levitical Priesthood was temporary until the seed (Jesus) was to come, and so when Jesus finally did come he replaced the temple practices with the rules of the Melchisedec Priesthood.
Instead of having the High Priest of the Levitical Priesthood stand before God for us, Jesus now stands before God as our mediator allowing us to come before God ourselves. In this way we now can have a personal experience with God, God will speak to us directly.
The Old Covenant was all about the physical temple, but the New Covenant is beyond the physical and speaks to the spiritual. It speaks to our bodies which is destined to become spiritual. The physical temple is a type and shadow of our own bodies, which is the New Covenant Temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16).
The temple today is not understood by most christians, for they believe more in the physical than in the body. This is why most christians believe that another physical temple must be built so that the man of perdition can stand up within this temple and declare himself god as spoken about in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4.
Yet this event has already happened for those who can see it, for the temple which is spoken of is the body temple. So what we need to look for is the man of perdition standing up within our bodies declaring himself to be a god.
I know of very few people who understand the idea of a sovereign God, and the fact that the belief of a Free Will is a myth. The idea of a Free Will comes form the sinful carnal mind which resides with the body temple. The fact that the carnal mind declares that it has a Free Will means that it is declaring that it is a god.
This is evident in the fact that most christians believe that they are responsible for their own salvation, they believe that they must make the choice for Jesus in order to be saved. The truth is that God calls us, we do not seek Him. So here we see the idea that WE must make the choice, that WE must save ourselves, that WE have the power of God, the power to make these decisions, the power of God.
Thus, our carnal mind stands in the temple mind (the new HoH) declaring itself to be god. This fact is not well known at all, so if you can see what I am saying then you have more information than most others including your pastor.
This prophecy had a partial fulfillment when Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD. Yet the fullness of this prophecy will not be completed until the second coming of Christ.
I believe that in the end times God will make this clear to more and more people. And even though we have been blinded to this truth it is clear to me that God is starting to make this known to more of us. The Obama-nation of desolation is happening now, and in this time we shall become aware that the actual abomination of desolation is the carnal condition which we find ourselves in.
The New Covenant is all about what God will do within us, not what we can do for ourselves. God will place His laws within us, He will bring us into salvation, He will do all these things. Read the prophets, for they tell of these things. Read Jeremiah 31, how God speaks of what He will do. And read from verse 31, when God speaks of what He will do in the end times.
Read how we got into this position in Ezekiel 5:8-17. Ezekiel is full of what GOD WILL DO to us and in us, yet we believe that we have done it to ourselves. If God is the creator of evil, then who else could work in us? There is much more about what God will do in Hosea, Joel, Amos and most of the smaller prophets.
The Old Covenant was based upon what we could do, and we broke the covenant so it no longer exists. But we keep thinking along the Old Covenant line, believing that we must make the choices, that it is the physical temple which we must watch for. We believe in we, we, we and I must, I must, I must. Thus even though we do not admit it, we secretly believe that we are a god in complete control of our lives and salvation.
I say, start thinking along the line of the New Covenant. Watch what God is doing in the earth, watch what God is doing within you and those around you. God controls the evil and the good, and He uses it to bring His creation through the tribulation, through the lessons of life so that His creation will be perfected. Keep up the studies….
