In my opinion, atheists like to take away our hope because then we'll get depressed and stop soul winning. After all, if we don't believe in God and sin, there's no need to "waste our time" trying to get others saved--either to help them avoid being punished forever in a place called hell or to assure that they'll enjoy eternal bliss in a place called heaven.
