Hello brother, nice to hear from you once again!
The apostle Paul is teaching us here, in light of the future, the need for alertness, as each passing day in the faith brings us closer to Christ's return and the consumation of our salvation. Paul exhorts us to put away all the deeds of darkness... sexual immorality, debauchery, dissensions, and even jealousies. We are to turn from the thinking that gratifies the sinful desires of the flesh- notice please, that we are allowed to have desires. It is the sinful desires that we are to turn from.
God bless you, friend!
