If it had not been recorded in scripture, it would only have been told a bit by a few.
Yet, the Holy Spirit inspired authors to record the story in the Gospels which are translated into many languages and printed over and over and distributed throughout the world for anyone and everyone to read.
Maybe in comparison to some other stories of the Bible it is not discussed as often, but that doesn't discount how often it has been told just by being included in the scriptures.
