Looking at it from the law enforcement viewpoint, I can understand the point. If I was in law enforcement, I would feel it helpful to know who was in a place and what they had that would threaten my life and the life of my fellow officers and the location of the individuals. It could mean life or death of the officers.
But, on the other hand, if abused, which wouldn't surprise me if it is, and/or will be, this is not something I would want them to be able to do.
