What am I to think?

Question

What am I to think?

This is not an exaggeration, this happens ALL the time, without fail, throughout my whole life. Someone would keep in constant contact with me, showing concern for my well being, etc. After a long while, I thank them for that, and immediately they stop contacting me and I rarely hear from them anymore. This is family, friends, fellow Christians, everyone, every time.

So what I am I suppose to think when this happens? Am I to think that they realize that they are doing wrong when I thank them and feel the need to stop it right away? If it was just a few from time to time, I wouldn't think much of it. But without fail, it happens every single time. And I cannot help thanking them because I believe in showing gratitude.

Texas, it doesn't happen to you all the time and to everyone! Think about your Godvine friends fellow christians, there were talking to you many times. And now too in this website there are the same fellow christians from Godvine still talking to you and look at you as your friend :)

I'm not saying that "everyone" stops contacting me, I'm referring to friends that after I thank them is when they suddenly stop communicating, and it is always immediately. It just happened recently. For 3 to 4 weeks in a row, this person and I was messaging each other on facebook on a daily basis. Week before last, I thanked that person for continuing to message me, showing they cared. I didn't get no response, but a few days later, they messaged me asking about another subject, I responded, and that was it. No more messaging. And I hadn't heard from them since. Like I stated, if I wouldn't have thanked them, then although I would wonder what was going on with them, if everything was ok, or may they were busy, but after thanking them, that is what "raises my eyebrow". I tend to feel that I was wrong for thanking them, or that they think that they were doing something bad but didn't know it until I revealed it to them.

Just to let you know, satan loves to attack me in my thinking. He does it often, very often. He plants those things like that in my head, and it does make sense. So, I come here to hopefully get some "rebuttal" against it.

Thank you for doing just that. I can't tell you how much it helps.

Texas I realized that I don't like "friendships" on social media. For me it's not friendship is just writing person. I prefer friendship "face to face" , somebody I can see and be next to him and see expression on his or her face and tone of his voice. Satan is giving people false impression that they have lot of friends from social media but truth is that they are lonely. I felt to such a trap, I was opening my life to somebody and I thought we were real friends but that person just stopped writing me and when I asked many times why, no answer. It realy hurts. I am finish with false friendships from social media. Maybe you can be careful about it too and have real friends whom you can visit and ask what's wrong if they stop writing you.

This doesn't make me depressed, nor upset in any way. As long as God doesn't do that, I'm more than fine. And according to His Word, He won't, and I trust Him. But I do think it is strange that this happens every time.

This is hard to answer without knowing the details. You aren't depressed, but it is bothering you; otherwise, you wouldn't have posed the question. I would say that you should confront the people you are talking about and tell them you miss them and ask why you no longer hear from them. I'm sure that most of them aren't doing it intentionally. Sometimes we simply get out of the habit of doing something.

It does seem odd that it happens the way you are describing.
But if they get mad at you for asking what happened or why they stopped messaging you, then they likely were not the kind of friend you would want to have anyway.

If they were truly a friend, it should not be so easy to offend them.

I have in the past, and every time, they get all mad, when all I want to know is why communication stopped "after" I thanked them for it. I can't ask people that question, it makes everyone mad. So it cause strife when there is no need for strife.
You can't change your family, but it sounds like you need some new friends.
