Yes, I wonder also. If the church would rise up then what? I have heard this statement before also. I have heard Christians being told that we are not doing our job and if we were doing our job, this world would be a better place, or we could change this world.
I think people say these things to put a guilt trip on us as Christians. “If the church would rise up” or “If you would just do your part!” Well, what does all that mean? What are we supposed to do to rise up? And what outcome can be guaranteed if we do “rise up?”
There’s no guarantee that the things that are taking place in this world are going to change if we “rise up.” No guarantee at all! I will speak for myself here but I think this applies to every believer. Jesus never places me under any pressure to perform. He never places me under any pressure to “rise up” in order to change the outcome of this world.He tells me that I am to follow Him. He leads the way! There is no pressure for me to get out there and do my part or to rise up. All I need to do is follow the persuasion of His Spirit working in my life.
My brother, people are being told that we need to rise up and we need to get out there and do our jobs, and that the reason why this world is in the mess that it is, is because we are not doing our jobs. I don’t agree with that.
Jesus tells us that we are to follow Him. Pretty simple! He never told us to get out there and do our jobs. We are also told in the bible that there will be a falling away from the truth in the latter times. Jesus never said that if we as a church would rise up, these things would not happen. Jesus already told us what to expect. I think we are seeing it now.
People talk about this huge revival that is getting ready to take place and that we as the church need to rise up and do our jobs in order for it to happen. That is not what Jesus said. He didn’t speak of any huge revival. He spoke of a falling away from the truth and that is what we are seeing now. How do we change the outcome of something that Jesus said would happen? We don't, and we can't do it by "rising up!"
You mention that we have to take action but what action should we take in order to cause the church to rise up? Jesus told us that these things would happen, but I don’t see anyplace where He tells us that when they do happen, we need to rise up so we can “fix it.”
Our focus should be on Jesus. The evil in this world is going to continue and we can’t stop it no matter how much we rise up or think we are rising up. Our focus must remain on Jesus. Don’t let anyone place a guilt trip on you for not “rising up” or not “doing your part.” Just follow Jesus my friend. Where is He leading you? If you still feel there is something you should be doing personally, ask Him what it is and then do it. If He doesn't tell you to do anything, then there's your answer. But don’t let anyone place you under any guilt because you are not doing your job!
Tex, may I ask about the scriptures you provided. I am not seeing the correlation between those verses and what you are presenting about the church rising up. Can you please give me your understanding of James 2:14-26. Thanks!

Here is a post I posted on facebook. Thought I would share it with you since it pertains to your response. I read an article that stated "we allowed". And that led to this;
I continue to read that "we" let prayer to be taken out of schools. "We" allowed homosexual marriages. "We" are allowing God to kicked out of the United States. I ask this, how are "we" allowing this? IF there is a "we" that allowed that, those "we" were those around all this began. I haven't read anywhere where anyone stood up to fight it. But then again, that wouldn't have been reported.
The church needs to stop trying to (unintentional I'm sure) put a guilt trip on Christians. I for one, do not feel guilty. I know for a fact that if I was alive, and a Christian, and had influence, I myself would have stood up when those things were beginning. I would have been right there in the courtroom fighting the decision, and wouldn't have given up. But I wasn't. So I cannot.
I keep asking fellow Christians, "What can we do to change it?", yet no one has an answer to me, except for what I already know, "pray". So if no one can answer the question, "What can we do?", they NEED TO STOP SAYING "WE ALLOWED IT TO HAPPEN". I personally didn't, nor anyone who is here now. Besides, laying blame does not do any good. Action is the only thing that will make changes.
