God wants to be known, right? Known for who He is.... He is good, holy, righteous, gracious, pure and without fault.... But how would anybody know? How could anyone appreciate who God is, what He's like, His awesome character? How could He be held in high regard? Unless of course, the opposite was presented. How can anyone realize the worth of a thing, the value of a magnificent treasure, unless compared to something much less inferior. Unless a comparison is made, one can not appreciate the true substance.

Shouldn't you more carefully state the question, Being that God is love and God is holy as revealed in His word...?

All good points, and I agree will all of it. But do you believe the only purpose of God creating evil is so that people would know that He has a great character? Is the purpose of evil and wickedness only so that God can prove His manhood so to speak?
Heavykevy,
“IF” is used in a positive way, for example, IF God IS Righteousness, IF God IS Holy, IF God IS Love. These are all positive statements because I believe in all of them. The question is, which you have avoided, why did God create evil and wickedness when He is all of these things?
Blessings

Well, I do not know all the reasons why God does what He does. I think God is much more vast than any of us realize, kind of like the universe(s). Actually, we probably know less about Him than we'd like to think. It's fascinating for me to think that God (according to Jesus) is always working, and He was probably busy long before He created us. I think He probably has a lot more going on, aside from us, than we are privy to... It's also interesting to me that He does, or has, used messengers to relay communications. It would almost seem like He Himself, desires boundaries.... I think we are going to be surprised when we meet Him... we'll be surprised at just how much we are like Him, in so many ways, and yet. just how measureless, infinite, and superior in every way, He really is.

As for the question, I would not be so foolish as to throw out an answer to such a question unless I could prove it with chapter and verse or He gave me some special revelation that could be found in His word. In that I have yet to receive such knowledge it is better to keep silent, that is why I "avoided" the question.
