T4J,
I have learned to not just come out and say what I think, for it offends many and I do not wish to do so. So I will ask questions for you to think about so that you may come to your own answer.
In the King James Bible (KJV only please), there is a correlation between words which is not really shared by other versions. I do not claim that KJV is perfect here, but I do ask that you use it for this study so that we are on the same page.
We have all been told that Satan is a manly (or a man) type of creature, but is this really true?
In Genesis 3 we see satan as a serpent, yet we declare satan to be a man, why?
In Luke 8:33 we see Jesus speaking to Peter, and while Jesus is speaking to Peter, He addresses Peter as satan, Why?
In 1 Timothy 1:20 we see that Paul has given 2 people over to satan. Why and How did he do that?
I ask these questions to have you think about the identity of satan, for the answer to your question hinges on you understanding who satan really is.
Keeping the laws of God is Righteousness, disobedience to the law of God is sin (1 John 3:4). Therefore I ask you this question, can satan keep the laws of God? (Important question, spent some time thinking on this one)
Also, T4J, if you believe that you have scripture which tells us that satan is a man, please quote it for me.
I will come back in a few days and give you part 2.
Blessings

I believe that people are inherently evil. As a rule mankind works to keep their greed, lust, hatred and all other sins under control. If we just did what we wanted to do in this world there would be worse havoc than what we see today.
Now this inherent evil is not the fault of mankind, but it is the result of the curse upon the earth. This curse is presented in Genesis 3 when God hands out the results of Adam and Eve’s sin.
I will have you look at verse 15 (KJV) and let us see that God has put enmity between satan and the seed of the women. The seed of the women is all of us, for all of mankind came out of Eve. This means to me that all of the seed of the women will have enmity in them.
Now let us look at Romans 8:7 where we read that the fleshy mind, the carnal mind is enmity against God. We know that all of mankind has a carnal mind, in fact Paul tells us that even he has one in Romans 7:14. So all of us have been sold into sin via our carnal mind, for our carnal mind is sin.
Notice that Romans 8:7 speaks to the fact that our carnal mind is not subject to the laws of God, NOR CAN IT BE. So here we see a condition in which we have a carnal mind that cannot obey God at all, for it was DESIGNED not to. Because we all still have a carnal mind it means that we are inherently evil.
There are those who would tell you that they have a spiritual mind, because scripture tells us so. I agree that we indeed have a spiritual mind, yet I am convinced that this spiritual mind is currently hidden from us behind a vail that is within us, a vail of flesh. (Think Moses hidden face behind a vail)
Thus, even though we have a spiritual mind we do not yet have full access to it. This is proven in the fact that we still sin, for as long as we still sin we lack the power of the spiritual mind within us. The spiritual mind does not sin, therefore those who claim to have a spiritual mind are lying to themselves in my opinion.
Because the carnal mind is sinful to God, because the carnal mind deceives us and does not follow the will of God, we as a species are trapped in this curse of Adam. In my opinion this condition will last until the second coming when Christ will remove the curse of the carnal mind from within us.
The carnal mind is satan in my opinion. This is proven to me in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 because we (our bodies) are the temple (1 Corinthians 3:16), and the man of perdition (satan) sits in the temple (our carnal mind) claiming that he is god (we claim a free will).
