When the books first came out..It gave young people an interest in reading again. I thought that to be a good thing in itself. However, the subject matter of these books as well as the Twlight books, seem to glorify witchcraft and vampireism (not sure it that is even a word..lol) Young minds are so impressionable, and I do not think these are good subjects for them. I do not allow my kids to read or watch them. Look around..see how many young people embrace this "belief"..some have gone to the extent of filing their teeth into points..My opinion..God is the only one they should be looking to for all things spiritual and eternal.

Here's the link to another article about Harry Potter ("Harry Potter Re-Write Now 'OK' for Christians?"): http://www.chick.com/articles/harry-potter-rewrite-now-ok-for-christians.asp.
In the above article, if you click on "Good Ole Rotten Apples," you'll find links to lengthy excerpts from various chapters in the book of the same name. (Click on "Read" next to the bolded chapter headings.) I found them very interesting.
