Yes, many Christians are guilty of ignoring God. One of the biggest reasons I feel for that is because of guilt itself. For example, I have a habit of ignoring Him out of guilt when I willingly sin. When I choose to give into a temptation, I have a habit of feeling bad about it, and almost want to punish myself (in a manner of speaking) before I even come to Him and ask for forgiveness. For some reason, I have a hard time getting it into my head that I can immediately come to Him. What is messed up about it is that I personally cannot stand it when someone ignores me, yet, I have times when I ignore the Only One we should never ignore. But Praise be to God that He never holds our sins against us.
