On Nightline yesterday, they had a segment about a man (Sam Cossman) who recently rappelled into an active volcano (Marum Crater) while wearing a GoPro camera and stood next to "a boiling pit of red-hot lava," as stated by Michael Strahan on Good Morning America. It's the perfect picture of what the Bible calls the "lake of fire." So far, more than two million people have viewed the video. This is what the Bible says about the lake of fire:

-- Revelation 20:10-15: “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. I have a few questions:
First let me say that I am sorry you have been hurt by "churches". You seem very angry about all teachings and assume that all churches are alike..they are not. I think a more accurate term for what you describe would be religion. The Chruch is the body of belivers in Christ.

Do I believe that if everyone heard God's voice they would believe? NO. They wont and never have. God has been speaking to us all from the beginning of time. His spirit was on the earth and the Jews carried it with them in the Ark of the Covenant . Remember the exdous and Moses or Abraham? They still chose to worship idols instead of the one True God. Even Jesus.. and still they do not believe. I do believe that God will reach each and every person..but will they chose to listen to His voice? Some will..others will not.. It is still our choice.

The thief on the cross and the comma..really..what difference does it make? The point is that he went to Heaven..because he believed Jesus was the son of God. Whether it was that day or that year..He went.

Let me ask you this..what do you think of the old testament? I see that throughout the entire OT we are taught who God is and what His character is. He is a holy, righteous, jealous and loving God. He is to be feared. That is mentioned more than a few time and it does not mean to be in reverance of Him. We are taught that God does love us and He wants us to love Him. He will provide and care for us if we only Trust and Obey Him. If we do not there are concequences..wrath being one. We see it over and over.
I agree that eternal life is just that and applies to all. But just as from the beginning of time..we choose who we will worship. Does not a father love his child also disiclpine him? Does he not teach him the path or righteousness and destruction? It is the same with God. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He does not want anyone to suffer..He wants us all to choose to love and worship Him..That is what we were created for.
I think in today's society, we all want to think and do as we please and have it be ok with God..it is not. We want to be the One that is of upmost importance above the Creator of everything. Heaven is where we will be to worship God. Where our love will pour not only from Him but into HIm. So, for the ones that choose not to love God..why would they go to a place to love Him? What do they think they will do there or will it be such a great place to be that they will then fall in love with the place or the Lord? Just wondering...

It is a nice thought that everyone goes to Heaven..but the only way is thru Jesus. I just dont see how in the end everyone will love and worship the Lord if it has not been that way from the beginning? Even with Lucifer. It just does not seem logical. I also do not see it that way through out the bible.
I do pray that we all search scripture and pray for wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit as to God's will. One thing I think we all agree on is that we are to love the Lord God above all else, then each other. Blessings....

A few simple points concerning this post.

What does “fire” represent in scripture?

Here are some hints… (all KJV)

(Exodus 3:2) And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

(Exodus 13:21) And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night

(Deuteronomy 4:24) For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire

(Hebrews 12:29) For our God is a consuming fire.

(1 Corinthians 3:15) If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

(Psalm 104:4; Hebrews 1:7) Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire.

Any study of the word of God will show that there are actually three kinds of fire in scripture. There is the physical fire, there is the strange fire, and there is the fire of God. God is a fire, His spirit is a fire, God speaks by fire (Deut 4:33).

What the church leaders are not teaching the sheeple is that all people must go through the fire in order to be saved. The fire is a cleansing agent, it is used to remove the sins from our body. This is not a literal fire, it is a spiritual fire of cleansing.

Scripture teaches us that we must be purified by fire as dross is removed from metal. Gold is refined and made pure through fire, Silver is purified and made perfect by fire, all things are cleaned by fire. Fire is our friend, it is not to be feared. Fire is the symbol of the spirit upon us removing our sins and purifying us.

This is what the “Lake of Fire” is, it is the purifying agent of God. Sea in scripture is prophetic of a mass of people, so a lake is the same, a group of people. At the end of the 1000 years of Christ, God is going to cleans His people by making them go through the Lake of Fire.

There are three resurrections, or harvest, explained in scripture. These are found within the Old Testament and the laws of God. Each harvest is scheduled to happen at different times. There is the Barley harvest, the Wheat harvest, and finally there is the Grape harvest. These are explained throughout scripture for those with eyes to see it.

The Barley harvest represents those who will be resurrected first, they are the firstfruits to God along with Jesus and they are the body of Christ. Jesus has been waiting for 2000 years to gain His body of people. These are the ones who will do greater things than even Jesus did when they finally walk the earth. These are the sons of God, and all of creation is awaiting the manifestation of the sons (PLURAL) of God (Romans 8:19). Most church leaders will tell you that this is referring to the son (singular) of God (Jesus), but this is in error, for it is the sons (144,000) which will manifest. This is the first resurrection (Rev 20:5)

The Barley harvest will be the kings and priests of God. It will be these individuals who will bring in the kingdom of God onto the earth. They will be the army of God, they will not fail in their duty to bring all of humanity into the kingdom.

This is what the bread and wine should represent in communion. The wine is the spirit of God and the bread is the body. What body, the body of Jesus? No, the body of individuals which will make up the whole body of Christ. The second coming is not about Jesus as an individual, it is about His body of individuals which will make up the “body of Christ.” In the second coming we are to look for these individuals who become the body by having the fullness of the spirit of God within them, for Jesus Himself must remain in heaven until ALL THINGS have been put under His feet.

The Wheat harvest represents those who are believers, yet they have been blinded to the truth. These are the ones who would kill others in the name of God, such as those who would seek to murder the Arabs (whom they believe are terrorist), or fight or argue with people from other denominations. The denominational church as a whole seeks to push their beliefs and corrupted ways upon humanity. They do not understand that the Muslims were raised up to judge the church system because of its corruption, and they have not handled their judgment well. These believers in God would also use their horses (war machines) to settle the score verses doing that which Jesus preached and commanded.

This group also does not understand nor believe that the law of God is for them. They have determined in their mind that the law of God was put aside, so not only do they not study the law, but they do not know the law. On the other hand this group does include many people who love the Lord. They are very zealous for the Lord and seek His presence. It is the blindness of this group which keeps them from attaining to the first resurrection of Barley.

This wheat group will be saved, but not in the first resurrection, for they will need a bit more training. Jesus speaks of this group in John 5:28-29;

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Damnation is the same word as Judgment, it comes from the Greek word “Krisis” (G2920). The judgment is a corrective action, its whole purpose is to correct the individual into righteousness. Isaiah 26:9 tells us in part; For when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

The wheat group will be corrected into righteousness yet so as by fire (1 Cor 3:15). But this will not happen until after the 1000 years of Christ.

The Grape harvest is the final harvest of souls. These are the very wicked believers and those who do not believe. It will take more to correct these individuals. Grapes are trotted on to harvest them, and so this trotting is a symbol of the work it will take to correct this group. We do not have much information on these individuals nor how long it will take to correct them. It will be the job of the Barley Company to correct them.

This is a short and simple explanation of the use of the term “Lake of Fire.” I cringe at those who still believe it to be an eternal hell, for the idea of hell is not a Godly one, it is a manly one. The law of God does not allow for any eternal torture, it requires restitution instead. All of mankind will be saved, but each man (woman) in his order, and each man (woman) will go through their own lake of fire in order to be corrected.

Everyone must go through the fire and be purified. The denominational church system has everyone scarred of the fire, they have everyone running from the fire. The old Midas Muffler commercial used to say “pay me now or pay me later.” This is the same with the fire of God, be corrected into righteousness now, or be corrected into righteousness by going through the lake of fire later.

Your answer does not help at all. In fact, it's very confusing, and I believe that Satan is using you to try to prevent people from being saved.

Here's what the Bible says about confusion:

-- 1 Corinthians 14:33: "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."

You are wrong about everyone being saved, because the Bible says this:

-- Revelation 21:8: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

And the lake of fire must be even worse than hell, because the Bible tells us, in Revelation 20:14:

NOTE:

Last night when I went to bed I prayed to God as I normally do, and I was told that I did not make one of my points clear in my answer. This concerns the communion of wine and bread. I made it seem like the wine was a symbol of the holy spirit instead of the blood of Jesus. The wine represents the sacrifice of Jesus through His blood. But the bread is what represents the body of Christ which will be risen in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Sorry about the confusion.

I understand your viewpoint. I also used to have the same viewpoint as you do. But God showed me differently. Please allow me to show you a few things.

Point 1
You say that my information is confusion. Does this make it less truthful? I agree that I may not be the best at describing what I am saying, yet people are not to believe in me, they are to take what I say before the Father in prayer and contemplation to seek the truth.

The problem with all of us is that we have ceased to use our brains, we have become sheeple, following the dictates of the church system. We have failed to use logic and reasoning in our search for the truth. All we do now is regurgitate that which is taught to us by the system. What I am asking for this group to do is to use their intellect, to think things through, to use their common sense.

Here is an example of not using our intellect. Answer this question, Did one of the thieves which was hanging on the cross along side Jesus go to heaven that day with Jesus? Most will say YES. But if you think about it, Jesus did not go to heaven that day, He went into the earth for three days and nights. In fact, when Mary saw Jesus in the garden after His resurrection, Jesus even tells Mary “Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended to my Father” (John 20:17).

So when we see scripture which states “Verily I say unto thee, Today thou shalt be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43), we should have reason to pause. For the church will have you believe that this passage proves that the thief went to heaven with Jesus that day. But punctuation in scripture did not come along until much later in the Bible process, and the monk who laid out the punctuation did not show that he did so under the anointing of God, thus the words of scripture are divine, but the punctuation is not.

What would happen if we place the comma after the word “today” and the verse would read “Verily I say unto thee today, thou shalt be with me in paradise.” Now this scripture is in agreement with all other scripture. We remove the blatant error within scripture and have it be in agreement with all other scripture. Have we changed scripture? No, we have corrected it. If we would do these things, then the unbelievers would not have hey-days showing us the errors and contradictions in scripture. We have to move the comma that was not divinely placed in scripture or take it out altogether. But these things should only be done through the revelation of the Father through faith.

This is all I ask, that people think these things through.

Point 2
Concerning Revelation 21:8; I agree with you that all of the conditions within this passage will prevent people from getting into heaven. Buy you are under the assumption that God will not win all people over to Himself. What if God takes all of these people of whom this passage applies, and then changes them into a righteous person? Would this solve your problem?

It is assumed that we must make a choice for God in this life, yet scripture does not tell us this, in fact it tells us otherwise. In Ephesians 2:7 scripture tells us “That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”

We are saved by GRACE through FAITH per Ephesians 2:8. Do you see in verse 7 how this grace will be given in THE AGES TO COME. This is why the people will be saved through different harvests at different times.

FAITH in scripture means “TO HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD.” If one has the faith of scripture, then they hear God speak to them. Romans 10:17 tells us that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” It is assumed that this means to hear the preacher speak God’s word in church, or in just reading scripture. But this is not so, for true faith is to hear God for yourself, and in this manner you will no longer need to listen to another man speak, you will get the truth directly from God.

This is how God is going to save all people, He is going to start to talk to them. Do you think that if God speaks to a person they will change? Do you think that they might believe in Him if they started to hear Him?

This was very difficult for me to understand and accept in the beginning, for the denominational church system does not teach that you must hear God directly, they tell you that you must get your knowledge through the church. But the church is corrupted and what you learn in church is not truth, it is the doctrines of man. Eternal hell is a doctrine of man.

Philippians 3:3 tells us that WE ARE THE CIRCUMCISED, those who worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Jesus Christ, and have no confidence in the flesh. To be justified means to be made righteous in God. If this is true then explain the meaning of Romans 3:30 which tells us “Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.” This scripture alone tells us that God is going to bring faith upon all people, both the just and the unjust.

Linda, you have been taught from the beginning that there is an eternal hell and that only a few will make it into heaven. What if this is not true, what if the church has been lying to you from the beginning? Would you take the time to explore the points that I make? Most will not, they fear being sucked into a cult, a fear which has been placed upon them by the church system.

This fear keeps most people from seeking the truth in scripture. I was never so scared and unsure of myself as when I came out of the church system and started studying the word for myself. The book of Proverbs is all about the false church, what does strange woman mean to you? A women is a prophetic type for the church, a strange woman is a false church, so now read Proverbs (KJV please) and see what it says to you.

Point 3
“Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.” Do you understand the prophetic type for fire? This I tried to explain in my last answer. If you have questions, please ask.

Have you ever noticed that death is the last enemy to be destroyed? (1 Cor 15:26) Think about this, if death is the last enemy, then what happens to those who have died? Are they dead any longer? Is there death any longer? I say NO, because when all have finally been made alive, there will no longer be death, it will have been defeated.

Another point is “Who lives for eternity?“ Most of us would say that those who are saved and go to heaven will live for eternity. But wait, what about those who go to the mythical eternal hell? Do they not also live for eternity? If this is true, then all will live forever, it is just a matter of where will they live, hell or heaven. What kind of person would you be if you kept someone tied up in your basement forever in pain and torture? We could never say that you were love.

All made Alive
1 Corinthians 15:22 tells us “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” Do all people die because of Adam? Yes, we are all immortal, we all will die in our sins. What does this scripture say then? It tells us that all will be made alive in Christ. The “all” is the same word referencing both Adam and Christ. Jesus dies for the whole world, this is all people, in Christ will all be made alive.

Now the church system will tell you that all will be made alive temporarily, and then the wicked will go to eternal hell. Really, does scripture tells us this? No, it does not, this is assumed. There are those who would say that “Only those who believe will be made alive.” Really, does scripture tells us this? No, it is assumed.

I agree that a person must believe in Jesus to be saved, this is a no-brainer. Yet most people do not see the power in Christ, they do not see that in the end Christ will bring all people to Himself. Yes, the murders will not be allowed into heaven, but what if all murders repent and come to Jesus? Yes, no idolators or liars shall inherit the kingdom of God. NEWS FLASH, we are all idolators and liars, this is the sinful condition that we all find ourselves in.

God has promised that He will place His laws within our hearts and minds (Hebrews 8:10; 10:16), and that He will make us righteous, we have no say in the matter. We assume that it is our choice to believe in God, that we have made this choice by our own free will. This is not scriptural, only God can change us, only God can call us to Him.

In John 14:6 we read how Jesus tells us that only through Jesus can we be saved. But in John 6:44 we read that we can only come to Jesus by the Father drawing us to Him. Do you see this? God is the one who brings us into the belief of His son, not our free will.

The church is totally against this teaching because they want your money, they want your tithes and offerings. The church is the one who changed this truth during the early time of the church, at the first council. The church system must maintain this fear factor in order to have the people keep coming to them, thus believe and attend or die in eternal hell.

But what I am trying to explain to anyone who will listen, to anyone who has ears to hear, is that our God is righteous, He is Love. Which one of you would give up their child in the name of judgment? Not one of you would place your child in harms way, yet we all assume that God does, that He has no power to stop His children from sinning.

God is all powerful, yet we do not believe it. God is love, yet His love will condemn most of mankind. God is righteous, yet He will not forgive the sinner. This is the delusion which the church system has taught us. Come out of her (church system) my people, and do not partake of her sins, and be not partakers of her plagues (rev 18:4).

So Linda, please do not assume anything, study what I say and see if there is truth in it. Most will not study, they will just blast away, because this is what the church teaches us to do. Go point by point through what I have explained, pray for understanding from our Father in heaven by His Son. Seek the faith of hearing and His righteousness.

It is hard to see the truth that all will be saved unless you start to look at scripture with this understanding. Only by looking at scripture with this knowledge can you ever see it, until then you are blinded to this truth, for you are not looking for it. By looking at scripture in this light will you start to see the errors in your current understandings, for the truth is hidden until you search it out. Go to God and ask the question “God, are all people saved?” Then go to scripture and search out the answers, and the truth will be made known to you.

It is my wish and prayer that all on this board will come to see God for who He truly is. Father in heaven, please give these people the faith in which you have granted me. Allow them to see the corruption and lies told to them by the church system, and show them the way out from among this corrupted system. I ask Father, that you place your blessing upon them, and show them the love of your ways, that your true goal is to save all of mankind, and that your will shall be done in the earth. AMEN.

I wish you no ill will. I do understand your point about religion..Jesus had the same issues with the Pharisees and the Sadducees. I do not believe in just following a certain denomination just as I do not believe in following a certain political party. We need to seek wisdom and understanding from God. We are to be in fellowship with one another and grow in our walk with the Lord. We are to help each other in time of need. When we give tithes..whether it be to the church or to missions or where ever God leads us..it is to further His kingdom. God blesses us so that we can bless others...not to store up treasures. We give back to God what is from Him anyway..without Him we would have nothing..to show that He is first above ALL else in our lives. To show that we trust Him to provide for our needs. If the place we give to misuses these funds..then they are accountable to God for that. We must just be obedient to God. I do urge you to take the entire bible as a whole. to look at the big picture. hell was not created for us..but that is where those who do not choose to love God will be.. I feel sometimes we put too much emphasis on dissecting a verse or two that we miss the meaning of the lesson. It is all about God. He created us for His purpose..not so we can be happy..He created us to love Him and worship Him. He wants us to choose to love him. Look at it like this..If you found a lady that you loved dearly..but she did not love you even after you have done all you can to take care of her and love her and she wanted nothing to do with you..would you take her captive in you mansion until she changed her mind? No..neither will God. Our mission should be to show God's love to everyone..To let others see Him in us..to show them there is hope in Christ Jesus..When they see/feel the love, peace and joy that comes from the Lord in you..they will want to come to know Him too. (:

The Bible makes it clear that NOT all will be saved even though that is God's will, otherwise there wouldn't be the need for evangelism and winning the lost.

The Bible does refer to fire as a cleansing agent, but does NOT refer to Hell as a place of purification, but of eternal destruction, or eternal damnation as seen in the following verses: Mar 3:29, Jud 1:7, Matt 18:8, Matt 25:41,46, 2 Thes 1:9.
Also John 5:29 implies one goes either to heaven or hell, not hell temporarily, then heaven.

Finally, Those that go to Hell are given a final judgement before they are thrown into the lake of fire which is eternal. If it were merely for purifying, it need not be eternal / everlasting (having no end).
