Answer Question
Anointing Oil
Back in 1996, I was living with my sister, her boyfriend (who is now her husband), her 3 children (2 girls and 1 boy--her youngest), and my mom. At that time I was working the graveyard shift at a Stop N Go convenience store. On one of my nights off, my sister, her boyfriend, and her 3 children went out for the night. While they were gone, my mom and I started anointing the house because we both knew that there were many demons in that place. I went anointing, while she followed behind me with God's Word reading aloud. We cleared the demons from the downstairs, then proceeded up the stairs to cleanse the 2nd floor. We did each room, until we got to my sister's room which she had locked, preventing us from getting in there. We both saw the door breathing, literally. We put our hands on the door and even felt it go in and out, in and out, like it was breathing. But in the rest of the house, we felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. A little while later, my sister and her family came home, and my mom and I both saw a greenish fog-like substance come in with them. We both knew what it was. I'm sure you know also.
The next day, I was sleeping in the room which I shared with my nephew. (He was at school.) It was raining outside. At one point, I was awakened by water dripping on my head. I got up and the head of my bed was soaked. The roof was leaking. Well, since I was not ready to get up, I moved the bed away from the wall, put my head at the other end and went back to sleep. I could still hear the water dripping on the floor. I told my sister about it when I woke up that evening, and she and I went up there to see the leak so she could tell the landlord. There was no evidence of any leak. The carpet was dry, the padding under the carpet was dry, and even the bed was dry. Hmmmm, I wonder what was going on (NOT, I knew what it was).
I went to work that night, and after I got home the next day, I found the empty anointing oil bottle. My nephew drank it.
On Godvine, there was a discussion about anointing oil and many people say that it is just ritual that is not needed. I ask this, considering the events on that night and the events following, especially with my nephew drinking the oil (which I had for a while prior to this but didn't use), I personally believe that anointing a place with the oil does much spiritual good.
The point of this is I wanted to share one of my spiritual stories, and see what your opinion about the oil is. I heard it referred to like when God had His people put a mark in blood above the door to keep their firstborns from being killed.
