Answer Question
Do you think that people could actually become like worms in hell?
The reason I'm asking this question is because, while I was watching the Oprah Winfrey show one day (long ago), I saw a person who had been in a fire and thought to myself, "That person looks like a worm."
Recently, I found a video on the Internet of an Oprah interview with a lady who had been in a horrible car crash. The car caught fire with her inside (her legs were pinned under the dashboard), and she survived--with third-degree burns covering 60 percent of her body--despite being on fire for over a minute. Oprah said, "Her skin, her hair, her face melted away," and the nurse who cared for her said, "Her nose and her lips and her ears literally fell off in my hands."
The Bible has many verses that refer to people as worms:
-- Job 17:14: "I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister."
-- Job 25:6: "How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?"
-- Psalm 22:6: "But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people."
-- Isaiah 41:14: "Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."
-- Isaiah 66:24: "And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.
-- Mark 9:43-48: "And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."
I put the link to the video in my question about being burned alive, but here it is again, if you want to see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hecfPhLdX6M. (Caution: The video is very graphic!)
